to lock the honeycomb to 1 side for stability. blocks are reversable for top or bottom orientation. the last 4 photos show top left and where alignment on honeycomb vs screen marker is for my machine
if they fit a little loose add some kerf offset. always better to have it a little snug vs loose. a little sand paper can make it a tighter fit. i cut out 1 of the top left and top right(or bottom left/bottom right) and just stacked them on each other to make the height tall enough to make sure it had some pressure against the honeycomb. if its too loose add some outwards kerf offset to all black pieces. if too tight go inwards. the green is for the magnet holes. should be sized a little big for no kerf offset needed but its colored diff to adjust if needed.
This is a simple stacked glue up. i stacked 6 1/8th inch ply to make the finial product. just a bit of superglue to hold it together. 6 pieces made it ½ a mm bigger the the magnets. always better to have it a little snug vs loose. a little sand paper can make it a tighter fit work better... on the prototype i did engrave it after the fact. but added it to the actual cut file. the font was something that seemed fun/fitting for a machine cutting a machine part…
