Information
I wanted to mix mediums so I used basswood to score the turtle design and cut tout the shell pieces and replace with fabric.

Step1: Prep cut, score, engrave
Preview

Change the layers into cut, score, and engrave as shown in the picture. Since I had to convert this into a svg I ignored the entire engrave section and only picked the legs and head to be engraved. In the picture of the final product I decided scored the legs, head, and tail instead. I did add a score border around the turtle, added an engraved quote next to the turtle and cut the entire project out as seen in the final product.

Step2: Fabric Step

Once all your shell pieces have been cut, place turtle on a piece of paper, gather t up the shell pieces and place them back into the shell. Lift only the turtle off the paper, leaving the shell pieces on the paper, this will allow you to know where to place the pieces back. Take any fabric and place over shell opening, press shell pieces into it correct area that has been covered with fabric and press down firmly. This will lock the fabric into place. Continue this process until all pieces are back into the shell. Cut away any excess fabric. You can tape or glue a piece of paper on the paper if you are worried the pieces will fall out but the cut is pretty tight so it should not fall out.
