Just like the name implies, it's a simple little English phone booth. This is a fairly simply model with no moving parts. Cut it out, paint it up, and glue it together!
Layout the design on your 1.5mm basswood sheet. Within the designs, red lines are cut, purple lines will score, and black will engrave.
The primary panels for the telephone box will be scored to aid in the placing of layered elements.
I opted to add window panes using 4mil Mylar sheets. Optionally you could use a thin acrylic or omit the window panes all together.
I prefer to paint my elements before the are assembled. In this case, I used a red acrylic paint marker as it allows for easy control and application of a thin coat. I did not mask over the engravings, as they were deep enough that paint from the marker did not saturate the engraving or the score lines.
Once everything was painted, I began aligning and gluing. All 4 panels are identical. Simply line up the cut layers. For the windows, I layered the mylar onto the primary panel, then layered the grid on top of that. In the include image,m you can see I used small clamps to add a little pressure while the glue set.
When your panels are ready, simply align to corners, apply a thin bead of glue and press together. This design does not have any interlocking tabs. Add each additional panel to create your booth. I did not add a top or bottom piece, but either could be added for additional stability if needed.
