A miniature version of the childs number puzzle but for a Dolls House. I made it as I will be making a full size one for my grandchild who is 15 months old.
I used a small scrap of basswood from a jig template and marked the processing area.
Move lower rectangle and engrave numbers to processing area
Process
I cut each number out individually using the default settings for basswood, making sure to carefully preserve each number from the baseplate - they are small and can fall through when cutting so this avoided ruining the numbers - if you have a honeycomb base you might not need to do this. Make sure you know which is the 6 and which is the 9!
Also then cut the border rectangle
Glue the two rectangles together with wood glue (I used Gorilla Glue) and clamp til dry
Sand the top rectangle with 240 grit sandpaper so that the numbers can stand proud of the top when inserted.
Paint the individual numbers and the top surface of the board - make it bright and colourful. I also added colour to some of the holes especially the 6 and the 9 so that it is easier to see which number goes where.
Once all the acrylic is dry you could leave as is or vanish it.
Once everythin is dry you can replace the individual numbers to their space. All done!
