Step1: INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Prepare Materials & Design

Materials Needed:

6mm plywood (for the fish base)

 Laser engraver & cutter

 Borax (to enhance engraving contrast)

 Matte clear coat spray

 Wood glue or strong adhesive

 Sandpaper (optional, for smooth edges)

Small photo (to fit in the frame)

Step 2: Cutting & Engraving the Frame

1. Load the Design “ Upload the gonefishinpictureframe.svg file into your laser cutter software. Adjust the settings based on your machine recommendations for 3mm plywood.

2. Engraving the Details – Before cutting, engrave the fishing rod, hook, and text Gone Fishin onto the frame.

• Tip: Apply a light layer of borax to the plywood before engraving to darken the burn for better contrast.

3. Cut the Frame “ Once engraving is complete, proceed with cutting out the frame shape, including the inner square for the photo.

Step 3: Cutting the Fish Base

1. Load the Fish Base Design “ Use the same software to load the gonefishinpictureframe.xcs file.

2. Adjust Cutting Settings “ Change the settings for 6mm plywood, ensuring a clean cut.

3. Cut the Base Shape “ Run the laser cutter to cut out the fish-shaped base.

4. Optional Sanding “ If necessary, use fine-grit sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges.

Step 4: Assembly

1. Attach the Frame to the Base “ Apply a thin layer of wood glue to the bottom of the frame and attach it to the fish base. Ensure it is centered and stable.

2. Let it Dry “ Allow the glue to fully dry before handling further.

3. Apply Clear Coat “ Lightly spray the entire assembled piece with matte clear coat to protect the engraving and wood surface. Let it dry completely.

4. Insert the Photo “ Place your chosen photo into the frames cutout. You can secure it with glue or a small piece of tape on the back if needed.

Step 5: Final Touches & Display
