Information
A commode for a dollhouse with pull-out drawers. Significantly smaller than the original, making it very handy. I used two different types of wood to create a more standout look. Of course, you can make this from a single material if you prefer.

This is a 3mm Plywood version.

1. Prepare the Laser Cutter:

  • Load the 3mm Maple Plywood into your laser cutter.
  • Open the design file in Creative Space Software and ensure the layout fits within the material boundaries.
  • Secure the plywood to the laser bed to prevent movement during cutting.
  • Swap the tray to the honeycomb tray or add raiser under the 3mm Plywood
  • (Optional) Use some tape to hold down the board if needed.
  • Enable the output

2. Set Cutting Parameters:

  • Adjust the laser focus height and define the cutting boundaries according to your material and machine specifications.
  • Double-check settings to ensure clean cuts.

3. Run the File:

  • Begin the cutting process.
  • Monitor the process to ensure accuracy.

I had the best experience when gluing everything together by following these steps:

  1. Glue the back part together, as shown in the first picture.
  2. Glue the two side parts to the drawer. Make sure the alignment is correct.
  3. Attache the front with a little bit of glue to the drawer. Make sure the front panel is oriented correctly. This means that the cutout on the side should be closer to the top edge than to the bottom edge.
  4. Glue the handle in the designated slots.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 two more times.

This way, the three drawer will already be assembled, and next, you can move to the body.

Step4: Attache the inlay

Take the side panels and the drawer bottoms and glue them together.

  1. First glue one drawer bottom to one side panel and repeat this step for the other two drawer bottoms.
  2. Glue the other side panel in the correct orientation to the part in step one. Both sides with the one protruding wooden connector piece must face down( to the right in the picture). The drawer bottom should be positioned closer to the outer edge, as shown in image 2.

  1. Attach the bottom plate to your project with glue. The bottom plate has only one cutout on the left and right, while the top plate has two.
  2. Glue the two feets to the commode in the last designated cutouts at the bottom.

Step7: Place the top plate

  1. Glue the top plate (the plate with the two cutout on the sides) to the dresser.
  2. You can now glue the top plate onto it, pay attention to the straight alignment.

As shown in my pictures, this plate is made of a slightly different wood. Of course, you can also use the same wood if you prefer.
