I turned a 0.50 caliber pen for my grandson for Christmas. It doesn't fit into standard pen box so I needed to make one. This was my first project on my new xTool S1.
Simple layered design in CorelDraw with different layers and colours for etching and cutting.
Laid out on A4 page at 1:1 scale, positioned as require on final cut.
Exported to .SVG file
Start a new project.
Place 3mm Basswood on Triangular Prisms in base of S1 and selected ‘3mm Basswood Plywood A4’ in the Materials dropdown.
Used Auto Measure to get height (as this was my first I manually measured as well, it was spot on).
Marked the processing area by following the prompts, using the 2 point rectangular method.
Used the ‘Image’ button to import the .svg file which imported cleanly as vector and separated into layers for cut and engrave.
Checked settings and left at default - cutting 100/15/1 and engraving 30/200/1.
Pressed ‘Process’, pressed the button on the S1 and away it went.
I didn't note the exact time but it took about 5 minutes.
All very easy and simple to use, looking forward to more challenging projects soon.
