I saw a technique I wanted to try, so I made these burgundy red earrings to figure that out.
I wanted to make a solid color dangle earring to try out some painting technique. I made this swirly design for that - you can cut the design like I did, or just score / engrave the elements; feel free to customize your project.
The settings are for a 10W M1 machine, 3mm plywood
Choose a nice color, and add it with a sponge. It will create a textured look. I am using a simple acrylic paint, mixed the color for myself and added the color on both sides and aside as well!
Let it dry.
To add an extra old-ish look, I took a fine sandpaper, and gently sanded the sides everywhere, and a bit sanded on both sides. Make this step very carefully, especially if you cut the design like I did - the lines are very thin, and you can break it.
You can add an extra coat of varnish or wax to make it extra secure, and water resistant. Since the design is very light, I suggest a lacque spray.
You'll need 2/4 small circles, and 2 earring hoops to add - then you are ready to wear your new earrings.
Share your adaptions of the project, if you made it!
