Red rose engraved on a black stone coaster then outlined by engraving the edges
Paint the slate coaster with a red color, allow to dry. Follow with a coat of flat black. Allow to dry overnight.
Set up the engraving layer for the full image first. The power is adjusted to only remove the black layer, leaving the red to show.
Follow with an additional engraving process for the edging. This very slow process pulls the iron sulfide out of the coaster, leaving a nice gold-color edging on the rose.
