First, I searched for the image I wanted. In this case, I wanted an image of a red dragon breathing fire. I found a free wallpaper online that interested me. I used a photo editing tool to make the picture match the canvas size. I made the image black and white, then inverted the colors into a negative.
The next thing I did was to spray-paint the entire canvas in three colors, yellow, red, then flat black. I sprayed a layer on the entire canvas, ensuring the color was completely covering the canvas, but not spraying it on too thick. I let each layer dry for at least an hour before spraying the next.
Once the canvas was ready, I set it under the D1. I opened the image in XCS and made sure it was aligned properly and began the lasering.
As you can see in one of my images, the image looked a bit foggy. Once I finished, I used a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe off the paint that settled back on the canvas. You have to do this quickly and use a dry cloth to wipe off the excess moisture. This will help stop any of the settled paint from redrying and sticking to the image. The last thing I did was to spray paint the finished image with a satin clear spray paint. I attached the image of it before the clear coat so you can see the difference.
