Step1
Steps:
- Download the .SVG file or the xTool .XCS file.
- Open a new project in your xTool software and select your preferred material (3mm Basswood in this case).
- Mark your work area and measure your focus (you can use Auto Measure on the xTool M1 Ultra). However, these settings work with all xTool lasers!
- Set your design parameters:
- The red outline should be set to CUT.
- The darker areas should be set to ENGRAVE.
Recommended Settings:
- Engrave: Power 50, Speed 170
- Cut: Power 50, Speed 6
⏳ Processing Time: 6-10 minutes (depending on the scale of the design).
- Finishing Touches:
- Once the process is complete, attach the keychain and add any wood finishing touches you like!
- The example photos were made using 5mm Okoume wood with a wood finish, as I love how Okoume cuts and engraves!

So when I sat down to design something for the xTool Valentine’s Contest, I thought—why not take inspiration from the true masters of love? Enter: this tiny, chubby bee keychain, complete with the corniest, punniest message possible—"Bee My Valentine". Because let’s face it, Valentine’s Day without a pun? Un-bee-lievable. 🐝😆
I imagined someone laser-cutting this little guy, watching as the wood darkens with every engrave, knowing that in just a few minutes, they’ll have the perfect handmade gift—one that’s way better than gas station chocolates. Stick it on a keychain, gift it to your sweetheart, bestie, or even yourself (self-love is important, people).
