I designed and created this fun lip-themed light plate. I hope you enjoy :)
Please make sure your acrylic is masked before engraving and cutting. I recommend using white masking tape for this. Flashback can be avoided by raising the material off of the honeycomb. If you would like a snug fit you will need to account for kerfing.
Step 1: The 1/16in black will be used as the backing material. You will layer all remaining pieces of the lips on top of the black backing.
Step 2: Next, cut the lips out of 3mm red acrylic.
Step 3: Cut the teeth out of 3mm white acrylic.
Step 4: Cut the tongue out of 3mm pink acrylic.
Step 5: Cut the black background out of 3mm black acrylic.
Step 6: Make sure to dry fit all the pieces together before gluing.
Step 6: Using B-7000 glue, add the adhesive glue to the red lips and
carefully align them on the black backing piece. Next, continue gluing and adding the remaining pieces, starting with the teeth and working inwards. You must follow the directions for curing time for the adhesive you are using.
Enjoy!
