Paris, the City of Love, is a perfect backdrop for a Valentines Project. Years ago I saw a print of the city in black and white and a red umbrella lying in the street. I love the play of colors so I decided to create one of my own.
I created a box 9x9 so this project could fit in an inexpensive frame I had lying around. This was programed to cut.
Then I added the pieces that would be engraved.
In order to create the backdrop I used the AI feature in XCS. I described the photo as city street lined with trees leading to Eiffel Tower. The design had cars on the street which I removed using the edit tool.
I found a free file using a google search of XOXOXO . I copied and pasted it to the boarder of the piece. The top ones being slightly larger in order to fit.
I inserted the words Je T'aime and placed it in the lower left of the picture.
I processed this file on the riser base.
For this step I changed to the baseplate. I taped the wood down so it would not shift under the movement of the printer function.
Using the app, I took a picture of the project and imported it onto my screen. Then I was able to place the last two items.
The couples kissing was one of 3 generated for this and another project using AI in XCS. My description was a couple kissing with her foot raised (all of them gave me both persons foot raised).
I added the couple and sized it appropriate to where I wanted it. I set the engrave settings deeper than the backdrop so it would cover what was already there.
I found the red umbrella in a set of pictures on my hard drive. I had to remove the handle in edit to make it work. Then I sized an positioned it over the couple. I made multiple passes with the ink to cover the backdrop.
Once completed I placed the design in a frame I had in my wood collection,
