I made these for my wife as a valentine gift. We gave the sweet versions out to our guests at our wedding.
Cut out all the parts in your chosen colours
I used pastel colours like the actual sweets but you could also paint them.
place masking tape over the front of the heart
carefully peal away the tape so that the letters stay stuck to the tape as shown in picture.
This can be fiddly but don't worry if you don't get it first time - i didn't! it is also useful to have a thin implement to help you poke out the letter.
rather then squirting the glue direct i put some a some plastic and used a scalpel to dab glue on the the rear of the letter and the outer edge of the heart.
i also used a sanding pad to take the shine of some of the acrylic to give it a more authentic matt look
keeping the letter on the masking tape i then positioned them on the back disk and let the glue set.
once the glue is set you can remove the tape
don't worry if some of the letters aren't stuck down - just add more glue and press the tape back down.
Turn over the hearts and stick the magnets to the rear.
Pleas make sure the superglue is completely set before placing them magnets on any surface.
Superglue can give off vapor when it is not set which can damage some surfaces and unset glue can also cause damage
Once the glue is set you can paint the details on the front.
I used a dark pink acrylic as show in picture.
You can use a brush or a sponge - gently dab the paint onto the highlights being carful on to get it on to the lower surface.
i think a patchy effect looks more authentic than a solid colour
One they are dry you're done!
Happy valentines
