I created this 2 picture hanging picture frame for Valentine's Day to gift to my husband. Our wedding was very special for us, and I wanted to encompass our love that includes our favorite saying.
I created this file to fit 2 4x6" pictures. I started with the 4x6 backing, created the top picture frame piece, and then copied that and combined it with a rectangle to get the spacer. I then created 2 boxes with the stenciled words “forever” and “& always”, along with 2 backers for the picture frame. Once I was happy with the size of everything, I sent it to cut the 3mm basswood with my Xtool S1 40W. I used the basswood settings from Creative Space.
In this step, I gathered the stain I wanted to use. I stained all of the pieces with a light oak stain, and the backers to the stenciled words I stained with a black stain.
Next, I glued together the picture frame backers. To the solid rectangle, I glued the spacer. Once dried, I glued the top picture frame rectangle onto it. I did this twice since I have 2 picture frames.
After that, I glued the stenciled words onto the backers.
Next, you want to decide how to lay out the picture frames. Here are 2 examples of how you could glue the words to the picture frames. Once you figure out the layout, you want to make sure you put your hangers on the back.
Once everything is dried, you want to place your pictures inside the frames and hang.
