I designed and created these fun dangle acrylic Cosmic Cat earrings. I hope you enjoy :)
Please make sure your acrylic is masked before engraving and cutting. I recommend using white masking tape for this. Before cutting the 1/16in gold metallic acrylic, you should mask the back side and cut from the back. I used the preset settings for the 3mm gold acrylic material but raised the acrylic to avoid flashback. Flashback can be avoided by raising the material off of the honeycomb.
Step 1: The gold acrylic will be used as the backing material. You will layer all remaining pieces of the Cosmic Cat on top of the gold backing.
Step 2: Next, cut the pieces of the cosmic cat in the galaxy or similar colored acrylic.
Step 3: Cut the remaining pieces from the iridescent acrylic.
Step 4: Using B-7000 glue, add a small amount of adhesive glue to the galaxy and iridescent ring and adhere to the gold backing pieces. You must follow the directions for curing time for the adhesive you are using.
Step 5: Attach the earring hardware as shown in the photo. When adding the studs, lightly sand the metal before adding glue. You must let the glue cure for the designated time (~24 hours). If you try to use them immediately, the studs will not adhere.
