This is a wall clock in the style of Cogsworth from Beauty & The Beast. The Alt.zip file contains SVG files where the crown, eyes and tongue are not cut from different wood and are instead incorporated into the face so they can be made as a single piece and painted instead.
Cut and engrave all the pieces using the wood of your choice. I used red oak for the face and black walnut for the border, but if you want to use other wood or paint/stain it instead that would also work. I also cut the eyes, tongue and crown from different wood for color but there is an Alt file provided if you'd rather keep those as one piece and paint them instead.
Gule the flace to the base. It's best to use good wood glue and clamp it or weigh it down with something heavy. If you cut the eyes, tongue and crown from different wood you can also add them here or wait and add them after this dries.
Glue the border to the face
For the clock mechanism I used the one that was included with the clock kit I purchased from XTool. However that seems to have been discontinued. Their support said they are going to sell the mechanism separately “soon” but for now you'll need to use an alternative. Just make sure the size of the cutout in the base and the hole in the face match your mechanism.
To do the hands I took the metal hands that came with the clock mechanism and cut them down to juse the center circle using a pair of wire cutters. I then glued the wooden hands to these circles so that they would fit the clock mechanism properly. You could also try cutting the circle in the wood itself to be the right size but in my experience that doesn't work very well and you'll likely end up having to glue the hands to the mechanism to make it grab well enough.
