Open either “.xcs” file in xTool Creative Space.

Wood

There is one workspace where all shapes are placed on.

If you want to might want to create a same sized background layer, however I only used some a craft paper.

Paper

There are three workspace you can select from - each one containing shapes for a specific layer and a single color.

  1. Paper - Front
A workspace containing the background color for “I” and “you”, the ribbons as well as individual letters “L”, “O”, “V” and “E”.
[Other than in the cover image I would use individual printed letters rather than trying to get the outlines as the knife rather ribbed some smaller parts aside than cutting it… (such as in the “E”). See my “LOVE card (designfind.com)” design as a reference.]
  2. Paper - Middle
All - combined - middle layer shapes as well as the individual circles.
  3. Paper - Back
And a very basic rectangle which can be used as a backdrop layer.

Alternatively there is a “.svg” file available which contains the card design too.

You might want to adjust your cutting settings based on the material used.

For my 20W M1 Ultra in combination with 4mm poplar plywood, I used a power setting of 85 and a speed of 5.

Step3: Paper cut

I used three different papers, each cut with one of the layers

  1. Gold cardboard
Gold is used as a backdrop.
  2. White cardboard
Used for the middle layer as well as the circles on top.
  3. Red cardboard
As a highlight for the text as well as for ribbons red cardboard ist used which will provide a great contrast with the white cardboard below/above it.

In retrospective I might would have rather made the circles on the “bookmark signs” red and the letters on top of it white - but thats for another try. ;)

After some time to let it dry, you can hang it on the wall or place it on a shelf.

Enjoy! :)
