This template is for a water filter housing spanner that fits the large size water filter housing, usually used as part of a 'whole of house' water filtration system. Most water filter housings of this type come with a plastic (ABS) version (pictured) when the kit is purchased, however if the installer or someone else stole it instead of leaving it with the filter, then this is an alternative replacement. I'll get it to you soon Mum; to replace the one that was nicked.
The settings applied in the file are for generic 3mm thick MDF sheet.
When the cutting process has been completed, press out the parts and align the sections to check the pin holes match; this version is not symmetrical, therefore double check the alignment and fitment of pins prior to applying adhesive.
Once aligned, apply adhesive to the faces that are not engraved with the tool name (i.e. “Water filter Spanner”) then sandwich the middle section between them.
Push the pins through the pin holes and place the assembled parts on a flat surface with a heavy weight on top until the adhesive has cured; a block of wood and a brick on top on a flat surface is recommended.
Once the adhesive has cured the parts can be cleaned and sanded ready for priming and painting; depending upon the material used, this may not be necessary, but is recommended in order to improve the durability of the finished product.
Write your name on it and don't let anyone steal it. ;-)
