My son loves everything to do with space. So I made this illuminated engraving for his room. I used AImake to generate the bitmap image (3D Engraving - Hologram, with the prompt: solar system galaxy sun planets comets stars telescope). Then I maximized the sharpness, saturation, and contrast (all set to 50) and inverted the image in XCS. I also added a 0mm offset line to enclose the picture and added tabs on the bottom to slot into the wooden LED stand. I united the offset rectangle and tabs, and set them to cut. (I used the stands from these sublimation blanks by PYD: https://a.co/d/fVplRsR ) I processed the design on 3mm clear acrylic, and less than an hour later, I had a unique piece of art to brighten a little explorer's day!
Open the project in XCS and process on clear acrylic. Adjust settings as needed for your laser. You may also need to edit the cut lines to fit the LED stand you are using.
If using a different laser processing software, be sure to increase the sharpness, contrast, and saturation of the image, and invert the image prior to processing. I recommend Jarvis mode with 200 lines per cm and bi-directional engraving.
After you engrave and cut the acrylic, use a soft cloth to wipe off any debris. Then slot it into the LED stand, turn the light on, and enjoy!
