Step1: Design Preparation
Create or select your Valentine’s design: Use graphic design software (like Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or even Canva) to create your design. Make sure it's in a vector format (SVG) or high-res bitmap (PNG, JPEG) that is compatible with the xTool software.
Adjust the size: Ensure the design fits the dimensions of your tumbler. Measure the engraving area on your tumbler and scale the design accordingly.
Convert for engraving: Import the design into xTool’s software (like LightBurn or Laserbox) and adjust any necessary settings such as the engraving depth, power, and speed based on the material.

Step2: Prepare the Tumbler and Set Up xTool
- Clean the tumbler: Wipe the tumbler with a damp cloth to remove any dust, dirt, or oils that could affect the engraving process.
- Secure the tumbler: Use a rotary attachment if your xTool has one to hold the tumbler in place, ensuring it's stable and will rotate evenly during engraving. Adjust the tumbler on the machine to ensure the design area is aligned.
- Focus the laser: Focus the laser on the surface of the tumbler, making sure it’s at the right height for clear and precise engraving.

Step3: Engraving the Design
- Test run: If possible, run a small test engraving on a scrap piece of metal or similar material to fine-tune your settings (power, speed, and passes) to avoid mistakes.
- Start engraving: Once you're happy with the test, run the actual engraving on your tumbler. Monitor the process to ensure everything is working smoothly. Make any adjustments if necessary during the process.
- Finishing touches: Once engraving is complete, remove the tumbler, clean any residual dust, and inspect the design. If the engraving needs touching up, you can carefully re-engage the machine for adjustments.
