Instruction

1

Step1: Plate Prep

Wash the plate with warm soapy water.

Plate the BACK of the plate with Black tempera paint.
Make sure it is smooth and solid.  You made need a couple coats.

Ensure fully dry before starting engraving.

2

Step2: Loading plate into machine

I do not have honeycomb or risers for my M1…just the standard machine.

Remove the base plate from the machine.

Place a sheet of Aluminum foil on your work area.

Place plate onto the aluminum foil, BOTTOM UP (so the paint is upwards and the plate is upsidedown).

3

Step3: Load file and Auto measure

Upload the file and auto measure.

Please note that since you are engraving the BACK of the plate the file is backwards so once the plate is face up, you can read the text

4

Step4: Engrave

After setting your settings to the above, frame the piece to make sure it will be centered.

5

Step5: Cleaning

Once engraved, wash with HOT soapy water to get all excess paint off.
