A beginner friendly and perfect craft for two people: A green sign for men & woman spaces made of plywood and island moss. With their basic shapes additions can easily be made to fit your own style or inspiration. Like adding flowers, a briefcase, a heart next to the shapes. Place the figures on display in the living room together on a shelf or let it guide house guests to the bathroom by placing it on the door - I am sure it will be an eye catcher in everywhere. :)
Open the “.xcs” file in xTool Creative Space. There are three workspace you can select from
Alternatively there is a “.svg” file available as well, representing only the “Basic Shapes” workspace.
Select either the Men or Women workspace and adjust your cutting settings based on the material used.
For my 20W M1 Ultra in combination with 4mm poplar plywood, I used a power setting of 85 and a speed of 5.
Material
Both pieces now need to be glued together.
Depending on your material, it can be helpful to even add an additional outline layer to provide a deeper depth. However this might make glueing moss in the next step a bit more difficult… .
Now it's time to glue moss! It does help if you outline the shape you want to glue first with the approximate amount of glue before filling in some wood glue and placing the moss on top of it.
Add a bit more moss than you think, you can always cut it down to size afterwards - and especially at the “corners”.
Material
You should let it dry over night.
Afterwards you can put in up on display wherever you like.
Enjoy! :)
