This picture frame is set up to have (2) 8" x 10" pictures. One on either side of the frame. We are using them as centerpieces for tables at family gatherings.
The xcs file has layers for 4 separate pieces. The main frame is 3 pieces that need to be glued together. The base of the frame is 2 pieces that need to be glued together
I found it easiest to glue the middle of the frame to the front, and then glue the back to that. The critical part is ensuring the tabs at the bottom line up and the sides line up. Once it is glued, clamp the pieces together to ensure they do not seperate. And of course ensure the phrases engraved are facing the outside
Just like in Step 2, glue the back to the middle, make sure everything lines up, and clamp it down.
Measure how thick the frame is. If it is more or less than .33", the cutouts in the base will need to be adjusted. This is to ensure the frame fits snugly into the base. If the cutouts need to be adjusted, ungroup the base, and select all 3 rectangular cutouts. Put the thickness of the frame in as the Height of the cutouts. Once this is done, cut out (2) base pieces
Glue the two base pieces together, lining up the holes. Clamp the pieces to ensure they stay together
Ensure the frame (3 pieces glued together) fit into the base. If it does not, you may need to sand the tabs in the frame or the holes in the base. Put some glue along the middle of the base and insert the frame.
Cut a piece of cardboard that slides into the middle of the frame and goes all the way to the top. Once the cardboard is in there, mark each corner to know where the frame starts. This is to ensure the pictures are placed in the frame cutout.
Attach a picture to both sides of the cardboard, ensuring the picture extends past the markings at each corner. Insert the cardboard with the pictures into the frame
