Nice little Christmas tree with hanging bulbs, this would look great on a small shelf or even on a table.
Step 1) This project starts with a selected image from the shapes list, I have selected a Christmas tree from the holiday theme pack.
Step 2) With this tree it can easily be resized to your liking, with the wider work area f the S1 I sized it to approx. 11" wide and 15" tall. Once the size was set the bottom was cut off to be flat, this is done by inserting a rectangle and placing it across the bottom of the tree and simply selecting combine and subtract. that removes everything and the bottom of the tree becomes flat.
Step 3) Now that the tree is shaped with the bottom flat it was time to bring in some circles, the first circle is the base. This base can be any color and I went with red. This base will be cut from a second piece of wood that is pre-painted. the other circles are for the placement of the bulbs. Now these bulbs are purchased from a craft store so the size was needed to be checked. You want to check size so you can create holes in the tree so the bulbs hang freely within in them. I also united a oval at the top of these holes so a wire hook could fix the bulbs to the tree.
Step 4) In this step I randomly placed these holes on the tree and once I did this I also enlarged the work area so I cold add a very very tiny hole just above the oval so the wire hook could be placed through the wood when adding the bulbs.
Step 5) Now the tree and stand are ready the large green painted wood was placed in the S1 bed then the S1 cut out all of the outline of the tree along with all of the holes for the bulbs and the very tiny wire hook holes. Once this was complete the green wood and all the parts were replaced with red painted wood and the process was repeated. Now that all the pieces were cut out all that was needed was to glue the bottom of the tree to the center of the base and add the bulbs with the wire hooks. Enjoy…
