Information
Create a stunning laser-cut wreath that doubles as a charming decoration for your door! The standard design features the word "Welcome" across the wreath, making it a perfect holiday greeting for guests. It uses just 3 sheets of basswood, but could also be done with acrylic with a few tweaks.

For a simpler look, you can also make the wreath without text. More advanced crafters could also customize the design with a family name or a special message. This laser-cut wood project is perfect for anyone looking to spruce up their decor for Christmas guests!

Laser cut the wreath components. You’ll need three 12x12-inch sheets of basswood. We used 3mm basswood, but you can opt for 6mm or even acrylic if you prefer.

  • Lay out the three large base pieces and fit them together as shown in the diagram or photo.
  • Locate the three smaller connector pieces (2–4 inches in length) and place them over the seams where the wreath pieces join.
  • Glue the connectors in place. This side will be the back of your wreath. Let the glue dry completely before proceeding.

Paint all the wreath components in your desired colors.

Here are the colors we used:

  • Welcome text: Black
  • Text backing: White
  • Wreath base: Dark green
  • Leaf stems: Light green
  • Holly leaves: Emerald green
  • Holly berries: Red

Let the painted pieces dry thoroughly before moving to the next step.

Step4: Glue Holly, Wreath, & Welcome Text

  • Arrange the six painted leaf stems around the wreath base to create a second layer of leaves. Glue them into place.
  • Assemble the holly leaves and berries, gluing them together as clusters.
  • Glue the “Welcome” text onto its backing piece. Allow all glued elements to dry.

Step5: Place and Glue Remaining Painted Pieces

Carefully arrange all the painted and assembled pieces onto the wreath as shown in the diagram or reference photo. Glue everything securely in place and let it dry completely.
