Step1: Xart Designs Steps
Preview

In this step the Xart program is opened from the left side panel, this AI generator needs an input of what you would like as a result, Some times less is  more depending on how detailed you want the result to be. AS you see I basically wanted a round Christmas ornament with a deer and it pretty much came out good.

Step2: Xart Design Changes

Now that the Xart AI image was placed into the XCS software I wanted to change a couple things by removing them. First thing is to go into image editing. With the eraser button a circle is created that where ever you move this will remove parts of the image. There is a scale to resize this circle so you can fit into smaller areas if need be. Once I removed everything including the top ring as I didn't like how thin it was the image was to my liking.

Step3: Tracing Xart Image
Preview

Here is where the fun begins, yes you can engrave this image created in the AI program but I want full control so it can be cut as well. So in order to this the image must be traced. With the slider bars to control the image's outcome they are set to your liking. Once this is good the trace button generates a new image but is an SVG and this now has scoring, engraving or cutting abilities.

Step4: Adding New Top
Preview

With 2 circles created from the insert button one larger than the other they are placed on the top of the ornament, once these 2 pieces are in place the combine feature is used and subtract at overlap is selected to join all the pieces to become one.

Step5: Resizing and Adding Optional Dates

Here we will resize the entire ornament so it will become a usable piece, the date is optional so once the size and font is picked it is placed on the ornament to an angle to match the ornaments slope.

Step6: Making a reverse Copy

So now we have an ornament we are happy with, it needs to be copied and pasted so there are a left and a right version of it. This is done once you paste the second one you use the reflection button and select reflect horizonally. This will flip it for you.

Step7: Date or No Date

Preview

Here I have made 2 sets one with dates and one with out dates, a name can be used instead. Also the layers are named for their actions cutting and engravings and the setting are adjusted for these actions.

Now that everything is engraved and cut, the 2 pieces are glued back to back to become a 2 sided ornament, as you can see a ribbon of choice is added to hang from a tree download this and make your own don't forget to give me a like…cheers..
