Book Keeper / Nightstand Organizer I was inspired by designs I found online and decided to create something special for my wife. Here are the results. Using the Xtool Creative Space, I infused my design with graphics I had previously purchased. I encourage you to add your own images to make this project truly personal for its recipient. Please Share any remixes of this one!
Insert material onto the honeycomb Panel. This design takes 5 full sheets of 12X12 -3mm Basswood
Mark your working area with the rectangle option, very little extra left over on this project.
Verify the correct settings for your machine. I ran this project on the S1-20W. Feel free to adjust the power and speeds to your needs. Add any graphics on the backer front / a monogram in the cupholder (bottom base), and an optional graphic in the space next to the cup holder cut out ( top).
Run the project, approx 45 minutes of runtime. The etching could vary your time.
Remove the project pieces and lay out the base pieces in order.
Assemble the base pieces together and glue up. I used superglue and ensured the tabs were lined up before placing some weight on the base assembly. To save some time, this could be done while running the backer pieces.
Assemble the backer in the same manner as the base, gluing up and ensuring the tabs are aligned.
Insert the backer tabs into the base with a drop of superglue on each tab.
Finish with a light coat of clearcoat poly.
Read your book and mark your page with the backer.
