Information
I wanted to create an optical illusion with this lamp by carefully cutting out key areas in the light slits of lamp shades that would showcase beautiful turkey feathers. By using an LED NIGHT LIGHT with Dusk to Dawn Sensor you can easily laser cut this shade and fits directly on it to create an amazing night light which will have many talking and wondering how thats even possible to create. Enjoy!

Instruction
1
Step1: Download XCS File and arrange as needed

Everything is sized to fit LED NIGHT LAMP specifically so do not make adjustments to overall project aspect ratio. You can move individual pieces to fit efficiently on your material but once something is changed it may no longer fit on night lamp.

2
Step2: Engraving of Key Turkey Features

I wanted the eyes and “snood” to show up during the day and stand out so I decided to engrave it. Adjust as needed for what you like best.

3
Step3: Scoring of Rear Fold area

YES this is set to cut, my machine and 3mm wood setup does not allow scoring to work deep enough to allow this rear piece to easily fold. This was the best setting for me to allow me to keep it as one piece and not break. Feel free to use scoring in case your setup is more efficient than mine.

I blame it on cheaper basswood I got on Amazon :(

Step4: Finally cutting of all pieces needed to create lamp shade

YES this setting is set to process twice. My machine WILL NOT allow me to do one cut process with suggested settings. I blame it on cheaper basswood I got on Amazon again and hope this gets better with next batch I buy.

Please comment on this project if you have a workaround this since I have tried everything to make it work.

In pictures shown I show you best way to assemble this lamp shade. Feel free to go in whatever order you want. I used some craft glue to keep it all in place.

Step6: Placing it on LED NIGHT LAMP

These Led Night Lamps come apart easily. You remove existing shade and collar and then slide new shade on it. Design is meant to fit snug on Lamp but feel free to add craft glue or use a hot glue gun to keep it tightly in place.

Please note you will be tempted to use existing collar to hold it in place but please don't since it will actually block light and shade will not work correctly. If you want to use existing collar you will need to cut in half to fit and not obstruct light.
