Information

A photo frame I made for my sister-in-law for her boss.

Instruction

1

Step1: Settings

You can make this project with any type of material you want. I used 3mm basswood 12x12 sheets. Get the settings for the material you will use with your machine. You will be scoring into and cutting through the material.

This angel frame can be used for any photos you want. You can replace the words with whatever you want such as photos of your children, grandkids, pets, family, passed loved ones, etc. This set up if made for 7 photos, one in the center and 3 on each wing.

Step2: Cutting

I started with layer 2 and cut the wing tips out first. These tips will be part of the bottom layer of the photo frame. Layer 3 will also be cut out. Layer 4 and layer 8 will be cut together. Make sure you do layer 8 first, this is a score layer ad layer 4 is a cut layer. Layer 5 is the frame that will go over the photos you decide to put on this frame. Layer 6 and 7 will be cut together. Make sure layer 6 is done first because layer 7 is a cut out. Now the only thing you need for this photo frame are photos to attach to the frame.

Layers 2 and 4 are the bottom of the angel frame.

Layers 3 and 7 are the top of the angel frame.

Layers 6 and 8 are guidelines for glueing the letters and picture frames onto the frame.

The only part of the bottom layer you need to paint would be where the words will go, the rest of the bottom layer will be covered with the top layer.

The top layer, you will paint the letters and the wings. You don't need to paint the areas where the photos will go but the rest of the wings should be painted.

Step4: Glueing

I first glued the letters to the bottom layer using clamps to fasten together. You glue both wings the same way. Glue the wing tips to the wing, make sure you align it up correctly and use clamps to fasten them together. Once everything is dried then i aligned one wing onto the bottom layer piece using clamps to fasten them together. Once it is dry I attached the other wing. While this all dries, I glue the oval frames to photos I will be attaching to this angel frame. Once these frames are dried, I cut the excess photo away and then glue them to the wing using clamps to fasten them into place.

I blocked out the photos because I did not get permission to display their faces. I hope you all enjoy this project. Download it and make it your own by placing family photos, your children's photos, etc.  and let us see what you can do with it.
