Nativity Christmas Ornament

I uploaded a file for creative space and a file for Lightburn, they both work. 

There are three layers for this project. The first layer (Blue), second layer (Black), and third layer (Red).

The blue layer is just to score the wood, so you know where to glue the third layer. The black layer is to cut out the ornament. These two layers should be done together on one sheet of wood. You can make 9 ornaments on one 12x12 sheet of wood. 

The red layer should be cut out on a different sheet of wood and I have it set up to cut out 9 ornaments, you will have leftover wood if you would like to make more ornaments.

Make sure that you only have the desired layers active when you go to cut out the layers. You may use my settings but run a test for your machine if you don't have settings for 3mm basswood already.

Once all layers are cut out, it is painting time. Paint each layer in the colors you want. With the bottom layer you don't need to paint the whole layer, you will just need to paint the areas that will be visible. Once you are finished painting you can lay the top layer down to check if you painted everything you wanted to before glueing the two layers together.

When glueing the top layer onto the bottom layer use the scoring on the bottom layer to guide you where to glue the top layer. I use claps to hold both layers together after I apply glue to them. 

NOTE: Before glueing the layer to the bottom layer make sure all areas that need to be painted are painted.
