It's the question of the age... Light mode or dark mode? With these coasters it's easier than ever to make your choice!

Instruction

Step1: Gather Materials

This is a pretty simple project, all you need are a couple of round slate coasters. You may use square ones, but you will need to make an adjustment to the light mode coaster unless you want the entire coaster engraved rather than just a circle.

Step2: Open the File, Engrave Away!

If you have not already, grab the design file and open it up in XCS. There are two layers, black and blue. Blue is not needed, it is the label for the images.

Place a coaster in the plate, focus the laser, and then turn on framing to center the coaster. You will also want to confirm that the engrave settings are correct for your laser. Once aligned, slide the cover down, process, start, then press the big green button to start.

You might be able to process both at the same time, I did them one at a time. It took about 15 minutes total to do both of them.

Step3: That's It, You're Done!

You're done! Your coaster are ready to use! You may choose to seal them with a poly coat, it gives them a little more definition. It's totally up to you!
