Lit Pumpkin/Jack O Lantern

We start with a 4 sided box. You can find some free files at boxes.py. If you start with your plain box, add Jack O Lantern faces and a Stem.

You can also purchase faces and the entire Jack O Lantern file from Etsy if you are crunched for time or have difficulty getting started.

I like to add lights to most of my projects ... so let's do that now.

Once you have the box set up, decide which lights you want to add.

I've purchased fake flame tea lights in bulk for really inexpensive on amazon and other places:

And I REALLY like lights that change color... they are a little more pricey but depending on your project... they can make a huge difference!

Measure the base of the light you want to add. in my case it was 1.5 inches.

I added a circle to the base that was a little less than 1.5 inches.

I added a rectangle to one for the top to put the stem.

Cut all pieces and paint.

I didn't bother painting the inside or bottom as it doesn't matter and saves time and paint when doing multiples.

I then glued the light to the base over the hole so that i can turn it on and off quickly without having to take in and out of box.
