The wooden planks (massive oak) are 165mm x 300mm thickness 4mm, the cutting and engraving of the wood will be done in 3 phases in accordance with the 3 layers of xTool Creative Space file.

Once the base of the box has been cut out, the position of the 4 self-adhesive pads should be engraved.

In the same way, once the top part of the cover and the bottom part of the cover have been cut out, the position of the bottom part of the cover should be engraved on the underside of the top part of the cover so that they can be glued together.

Une fois le fond de la boite découpé, il convient de graver la position des 4 pieds autocollants.

De même, une fois le haut du couvercle et la partie basse du couvercle, il convient de graver sur le dessous de la partie haute du couvercle,  la position de la partie basse du couvercle en vue de les coller ensemble.

Before assembling the pieces of wood together, sand them well with fine sandpaper to remove the blackness caused by burning the wood. Also sand the outside before assembling the different parts of the tea box, which will give a shiny appearance when coated with beeswax. Take a small brush and some wood glue and coat all the slots on all the pieces of the box, wiping off any excess glue to avoid staining the wood. Carry out the assembly, holding everything in place with rubber bands to ensure that the glue is properly applied.

Coat the wood with beeswax using a cloth or brush. Leave to dry for a few hours, then polish the surface with a woollen cloth.

Avant d’assembler les morceaux de bois ensembles, bien les poncer avec un papier de verre fin pour éliminer le noir issu de la brulure du bois. Poncer aussi les faces extérieures avant d’assembler les différentes parties de la boite à thé, ce qui donnera un aspect brillant quand il sera enduit de cire d’abeille. Prendre un petit pinceau et de la colle à bois et enduire tous les créneaux de tous les morceaux de la boite, en essuyant les bavures de colles en excès pour ne pas tacher le bois. Effectuer le montage en tenant le tout avec des élastiques pour que le collage soi correctement effectué.

Enduire le bois avec de la cire d’abeille à l’aide d’un chiffon ou d’un pinceau. Laisser sécher quelques heures, puis lustrer la surface avec un chiffon de laine.

C'est maintenant l'heure de prendre le thé!
