Information

      I made a strongbox with a gear lock using the xTool P2. I used 10mm thick boards,It’s sturdy and reliable.

Step1: Laser cut

Bass plywood is put into the machine, click on the auto measure to ranging, refresh snapshot preview, Check the parameters, and prepare for Laser process
(Before starting to cut and carve the board, we can paste a layer of paper on the surface of the board to prevent the laser cutting carbonized dust from sticking to the surface of the board)

First assemble the basic box, glue the three pieces door frames in order.

Glue the three pieces door panels together, paying attention to aligning the contours, Insert the lock tongue into the slot.

There are three specifications of gears,
6 tooth gear*3
12 tooth gear*2
18 tooth gear*2
Glue a 6 tooth gear and an 18 tooth gear together, make two identical ones in the same way.
Put the gears into the corresponding places, and use m4 screws and nuts to fix them. Here I used 20mm long screws, ensure gears rotate smoothly.

Install the wheel handle and a 6-tooth gear on M4 40mm screws. I use a wooden spacer in the middle to raise them. Note that the connection between them is a hard connection and you need use glue to fix it. Then insert it into the core.

Glue the hinge parts together as shown in the picture, and use a 4mm wooden stick to connect the two hinges, I used markers to color the hinges to make them more beautiful.
