This file contains a simple hand weaving loom suitable for use in a beginner textile class. Canvas 1 has a small loom and canvas 2 has a large loom. All the tools to get started are included on the tool card. Chop, change and resize the needles as needed to suit your wool or weaving material. The loom is set up for quarter inch spacing/ 4EPI.
This is a point and shoot project which is very easy to achieve. I needed affordable looms for a textile class I was running and did not wish to drop $15.00-90.00 on “beginner” looms.
Each loom can be produced for under $2.00 using a variety of materials. Load in your materials, adjust settings to suit the best cut and start weaving. Use every pick, every second pick, or every third pick depending on the size of the material and the finish desired.
Engraved on the comb is a common pattern used to create a herring bone weave as shown in the project pictures.
