This is step 1, create  a circle and size it to the size you want, in this case I made it 11.5" in Dia.

Step 2, Create the lettering, with the text box edit the default Hello to the text you want or need. In this case I made the words The Larks Family. Once created and sized the words were placed in the center of the circle that was created earlier. These words are copy and pasted to create a second set of them. With settings have one set to be slightly scored and the second set to be cut. Note The background wood is Walnut and the lettering will be basswood. So a second canvas is needed .

Step 3) With some fonts that overlap which is the case with the font used here, to avoid the overlapping with cutting use the weld feature to blend the letters together so they become a seamless flow.

Step 4) If you pre-paint the basswood prior to sending to the laser machine to cut the letters come out quite nicely in the white color, these letters are then glued right over top the score lines that were created on the walnut this make the line up of letters and words a breeze. These words can be created to your liking.
