This Mystical moon engraving was done in a light engrave for painting. It is done on solid ¾" pine without any knots. I engraved with the S1 40 watt laser on the honeycomb bed. The engraving took 2 hours. If you would like a deep engrave like the unpainted image then change your power to 55 and your speed to 150 this will give a nice deep engrave with more burn for effect.

Step2: Painting and finish

After engraving the Moon, I hand painted directly onto the wood using acrylic paints. I stained the boarder with minwax gunstock stain. I used black, yellow, orange, red, gold, purple, and iridescent purple. After the paint dried I sealed it with Minwax polycrylic spray for the first coat, then coated with regular polycrylic with a brush for 2 more coats. The final step is to add a hanger and felt pads to the back
