Wooden retro puppy desk lamp, movable joints, creative desk lamp
1:Use a Laser Cutter: Cut the boards using a laser cutter (for example, the P2 model with settings: Power 100%, Speed 5). Other machines can also be tested for cutting before using the final file.
2:File Layout: The default XCS file is designed for a board size of 300mm x 300mm. For different board sizes, select the fourth layer file to re-layout the design accordingly.
3:Important Notes: Due to material differences, cutting results may vary. After cutting, do not move the boards immediately. First, check if the cut is complete. If it’s not fully cut through, close the machine cover and increase the cutting speed before running the cut again.
1:Clean the Cut Surfaces: Wipe down the cut edges, then use sandpaper to smooth and flatten the completed parts.
2:Assemble the Lamp Components: Use woodworking PVA glue to assemble the vintage dog lamp head components, making sure to include the piece for the neck. Use painter's tape to hold the parts in place while the glue dries.
3:Important Notes: Wear latex gloves during the process. First, check that the lamp head components fit together properly and that all parts are complete. If there are any uneven areas at the joints, you can use sandpaper to smooth them out afterward.
1:Wait for Glue to Dry: Allow the woodworking glue to dry completely for 24 hours. After that, sand the edges of the dog lamp head components until the joints are smooth and seamless.
2:Prepare the Stain: Use walnut-colored wood stain and apply it along the direction of the wood grain. After the first coat dries, apply a second coat.
Polish the Components: After allowing the components to air dry for 24 hours, use fine sandpaper to polish them.
3:Apply Beeswax Finish: Rub beeswax along the direction of the wood grain to enhance the surface color and add a glossy finish. Wipe off any excess beeswax with a cloth.
4:Important Notes: Wear latex gloves during the process. When applying stain, always follow the direction of the wood grain. Refer to the product instructions for the wood stain used, and feel free to choose a color that you prefer.
1:Assemble Using Screws: Follow the diagrams to attach the parts with screws, paying attention to the orientation of the dog's lamp legs (make sure you know which side is front and back).
2:Install the Lamp Head: Attach the lamp head and any related components.
Final Result: Congratulations! You’ve created your very own handcrafted vintage lamp.
3:Important Notes: Ensure the screws are tightened appropriately so that the lamp stands securely and the leg joints can be adjusted as needed.
