8cm square box with a rose engraving, suitable for holding a few chocolates or as a trinket box. The engraving is done twice, the first time does the basic design, the second time only engraves the darkest areas more.
All pieces are cut and the top engraved before the pieces are moved from the bed. The engraving on the top first does a basic engrave and then will do another layer of engraving that defines it more and adds depth.
The lid has shallower sides. The two longer ones are glued on top of the inverted lid, on opposite sides. The two shorter pieces are glued in between.
The base is made in the same way, with the deeper sides. The rounded edge pieces are then glued inside, rounded edge up, so that about 1cm sticks up. This allows the lid to sit neatly and it does not NEED hinges. I added hinges on completion.
Fill with whatever you like.
