Isn't it the worst to get to a perfectly planned picnic on a cool autumn day with someone only to find out that the sandwiches that you prepared are flatter than a pancake? Well with this project, you can create a nice sturdy way to protect those sandwiches from becoming a picnic casualty.
Whenever I need to make a laser cut box, I go to boxes.py to create it. For this design I will show you what I did to create the box in case you want to change the dimensions for any other type of bread you might be using. I used thick cut white bread so that might be why mine looks a little deep.
You go to simple box→ then make sure that the type of lid that is there is selected none→ then put in your dimensions.
Think of it as if was standing upright. Always make sure you preview before you download to make sure it looks right. I would not suggest editing this file in lightburn afterwards unless you know what you are doing because the pieces might not fit together.
This is where you transfer the svg to lightburn and I have included mine and it can be used freely but if you want to use different dimensions you will have to create the new one. Important note: To make everything fit you might need to ungroup the pieces and move them around. This is not a big deal you can just use the ungroup function in lightburn.
Once you have it lined up, Send it to cut.
This particular plywood I had was being difficult to cut so I had to slow it down for the embellishments. It is important to watch those types of things and adjust accordingly when doing a project. I thought these fall leaves would look good along with a pumpkin centerpiece.
I used the same piece of plywood and cut them.
I used super glue to assemble because it is faster but if you want to you can use wood glue. I first assembled the box and then arranged the embellishments on the box. I think it looks amazing in natural wood but you can definitely paint it fall colors, just make sure you use food safe paints as this will be near food.
I just feel that this will be a cute way to protect your picnic and make sure that your plans are not flattened.
