What better way than to tell a joke to keep your kids in a good mood on their way to getting an education. these are simple and don't take too much time the hardest part is lining up the laser.
This part is the toughest part of the whole ordeal, I started trying to just put the pencil down and line with the laser but this did not work the pencil was too light then doing repeats on every time I made alot of practice pencils “for the shop” I then grabbed a cheap square and ligned it up with the solid frame then used some magnets to hold in place and this way the next pencil just lays right in. The magnet needs to be low profile as the first one I used also ended up hitting the shield on the laser.
Next to I just measured and found that each side was about 3mm so I made my design at 2.9mm. Here is where I found out that my cross hairs were not lined up properly and it was off by almost a 1mm I know there is a way to adjust the settings to be more accurate but I just moved the laser head at this time. Latter I will get some practice material out and look up how to adjust this. After this I just engraved lots of trial and error though working with the small items like this proved to be difficult. If anyone has Ideas on how to line up I would appriciate it!
