I wanted to find a small but meaningful way to thank my friend for inviting me to spend a beautiful weekend at her lake house. This "Life Is Better at the Lake" keychain feels like the perfect token of appreciation—a little reminder of the serene moments by the water and the warmth of her hospitality. I hope it brings a smile and reflects just how much I cherished our time together.
I used pine trees from a previous design that I really liked and thought would complement the theme perfectly.
Text: The text "Life is better at the lake" was added using the Bugaki Regular font. You can easily customize this text from the left panel in your Creative Space Software if you'd like to personalize it further.
Outline for the Base: To create the keychain base, I added an outline around the design with an offset distance of 3mm. This outline does not include an inner outline and will serve as the base shape to be cut.
Keychain Hole: A small circle was added to the design to act as the hole for attaching the keychain ring. Ensure it’s placed in a spot that balances the keychain well when hanging.
Before starting, double-check all the laser settings in the software to ensure the correct parameters for cutting and engraving acrylic. Once ready, process your design.
I used a black Sharpie to fill in the engraved areas for a bold and defined look.
Initially, I considered using a silver or golden marker but ultimately decided the black Sharpie provided the best contrast. Allow the ink to dry completely.
Attach the Keychain Ring: Thread the keychain ring through the hole. Ensure it is securely attached and can rotate freely.
Clean the Acrylic: Once the engraving is colored and dry, clean off any excess marker residue using a soft cloth or rubbing alcohol if needed. Ensure the acrylic piece is clean and smudge-free.
This was my first project using acrylic with my P2S, so I wanted to give it a try. I’m really impressed with how clear and neat the cuts turned out, and I’m very happy with the results! 😉
If you like my project, please leave me a thumbs up or a comment. Your feedback will make my day! :)
