Information

      How about some flowers that will never wither for your favorite teacher? In this tutorial I will show you how to craft a beautiful flower bouquet made from pencils and some felt.

Instruction

Step1: Start with creating the first flower petal

Select Shape and pick the shape that almost looks like a tear drop
Click on the lock to adjust the form
Pull the shape until it looks like a petal
Copy and paste the petal

Step2: Every flower needs more petals!

Select the copy and Rotate it 30°
Make a copy of this petal
Select the new petal and Reflect → Horizontally
Arrange the petals as shown in the picture
Make sure, the petals are slightly touching
Mark all the petals and click Align → Bottom
Mark the middle petal and make a copy that will be used later
Finally, mark the 3 petals and click Combine → Unite

Mark the petals and make a copy
Mark the copy and click Reflect → Vertically
Mark both shapes and click Align → Horizontally
Make sure both shapes overlap
Mark the single petal and Rotate 90°
Arrange the petal and make a copy
Reflect → Horizontally the copy
Move the copy to the other side
Mark the left and the right single petals and Align → Vertically
Mark all shapes and Combine → Unite

Step4: Finalize the flower

Add a circle on top of the flower's center
Mark the circle and the flower
Click Combine → Unite to erase the marks in the center
Add another circle, make sure it has a perfectly round shape (hold Shift to achieve that)
Place the circle on top of the flower shape
Mark the flower and the circle and click Align - Horizontally followed by Align - Vertically to have it centered
While both shapes are still marked, adjust the size
The circle should have the size of 6.5 x 6.5 mm (this is the size for a german pencil, you might have to adjust)
Group the 2 shapes, create 7 copies and arrange them

Step5: Cut the felt

Preview

To cut felt with a laser, you may need to adjust the settings for each color. Lighter colors require more power and/or slower speed
For my pink and rose felt I used 50 power, 8 speed and 1 pass
Consider to cut a single square or circle to test
Cut another color the same way (remember to adjust)

Step6: Build the flowers and finalize the bouquet

Attach the flower to the pencil, right below the eraser
Place your bucket or flower pot onto the plug-in foam and cut off what you don't need
Place the foam inside the bucket
Add some decorative moss on top of it
Attach the flowers
Finalize your bouquet with some decoration
