      How about some flowers that will never wither for your favorite teacher? In this tutorial I will show you how to craft a beautiful flower bouquet made from pencils and some felt. 
    

Instruction

Step1: Start with creating the first flower petal

  1. Select Shape and pick the shape that almost looks like a tear drop
  2. Click on the lock to adjust the form
  3. Pull the shape until it looks like a petal
  4. Copy and paste the petal

  1. Select the copy and Rotate it 30°
  2. Make a copy of this petal
  3. Select the new petal and Reflect → Horizontally
  4. Arrange the petals as shown in the picture
  5. Make sure, the petals are slightly touching
  6. Mark all the petals and click Align → Bottom
  7. Mark the middle petal and make a copy that will be used later
  8. Finally, mark the 3 petals and click Combine → Unite

  1. Mark the petals and make a copy
  2. Mark the copy and click Reflect → Vertically
  3. Mark both shapes and click Align → Horizontally
  4. Make sure both shapes overlap
  5. Mark the single petal and Rotate 90°
  6. Arrange the petal and make a copy
  7. Reflect → Horizontally the copy
  8. Move the copy to the other side
  9. Mark the left and the right single petals and Align → Vertically
  10. Mark all shapes and Combine → Unite

Step4: Finalize the flower

  1. Add a circle on top of the flower's center
  2. Mark the circle and the flower
  3. Click Combine → Unite to erase the marks in the center
  4. Add another circle, make sure it has a perfectly round shape (hold Shift to achieve that)
  5. Place the circle on top of the flower shape
  6. Mark the flower and the circle and click Align - Horizontally followed by Align - Vertically to have it centered
  7. While both shapes are still marked, adjust the size
  8. The circle should have the size of 6.5 x 6.5 mm (this is the size for a german pencil, you might have to adjust)
  9. Group the 2 shapes, create 7 copies and arrange them

Step5: Cut the felt

  1. To cut felt with a laser, you may need to adjust the settings for each color. Lighter colors require more power and/or slower speed
  2. For my pink and rose felt I used 50 power, 8 speed and 1 pass
  3. Consider to cut a single square or circle to test
  4. Cut another color the same way (remember to adjust)

  1. Attach the flower to the pencil, right below the eraser
  2. Place your bucket or flower pot onto the plug-in foam and cut off what you don't need
  3. Place the foam inside the bucket
  4. Add some decorative moss on top of it
  5. Attach the flowers
  6. Finalize your bouquet with some decoration
