Using simple terminology, I was given this image and loved it. I thought it would make a great Christmas ornament and after a few different cuts, came up with this on transparent 3mm Acrylic with a 1mm black acrylic backer. [Style] 3D contour [Prompt] Nativity Scene
This project was made to either craft as a clear ornament or backed with Black acrylic. I had 1mm Black acrylic on hand and so used that for the picture shown.
I put 3m 468MP Adhesive on the black acrylic sheet prior to cutting.
While most lasers will cut the black acrylic, clear acrylic requires a C02 machine such as the P2. Keep this in mind. If you do not have a C02 machine, this can still be crafted but will have to be done on a different material and you will have to undo the inverted image to make it craftable on a different material.
If using the black acrylic backer, I used the settings listed above. This is ideal for 1mm with the adhesive on it. If using thicker, you may need to adjust the settings to accomodate.
The image was created and then I adjusted the Brightness, Saturation, Sharpness and Contrast before inverting it and reversing it since it was being put on a clear acrylic piece.
I coated my acrylic with dish liquid which helps get rid of any acrylic residue from the engraving.
Once cut, I have wash off the residue with luke warm water and I have a perfectly functional ornament.
However, if I want to add the black backing, I peel the adhesive from the black piece and line up the holes at the top of the two pieces then gently press them together.
Enjoy your new Nativity Ornament.
