I added my favorite summer visuals - butterflies, humming birds, and sun to bring some color to my yard.
Since my files are created in Lightburn, you'll import into XCS. Upon import, the base is in portrait view so you'll need to rotate it 90 degrees to fit it on to the canvas. Set your material thickness (I use 3mm), and set your cut settings. For me, that's 90 power 22 speed. Run your cut on your base.
Import the Suncatcher Rays and Suncatcher Hummingbird files one at a time to cut. Choose your colors for these elements and cut as per previous settings. You may want to do a kerf test for your machine first. To do this, make a simple shape (a square for example) of a specific size, cut it, and then use a caliper to measure size after cut. Whatever the difference is from the original, that's your kerf. I have adjusted for mine in this file but not elements were a perfect fit. Some required a bit of gluing. When you have your hummingbirds and rays cut, plug them in to their corresponding spots on the base. If the fit is snug, no glue needed.
Again, import the Suncatcher Sun and Suncatcher Letters files one a time and cut from your chosen colors. When you import the letters, don't forget to customize for your name! Once cut, you'll need to put the letters into their corresponding spots on the sun. Hopefully they'll fit snuggly. If not you may need a small touch of glue. Be very careful when gluing and use the glue very sparingly on the edges only as it is easy to smear. Give the pieces time to dry before moving to next step.
Place the sun into the previously prepared base. Again, glue only if needed. Choose your hanging method (if hanging) and then you're done and can put it out to catch the sun!
