Information
      My sister moved to Las Vegas to help out our Dad for a bit and the next thing you know she was there for 5 years. Our Dad passed (he was 94) and she decided she loved Vegas and chose to stay.  When she sold her condo in NY and firmly settled in Vegas, I happened to see this NY state shaped cheese platter and came up with the idea to engrave it to memorialize her move from NY to Las Vegas.  Viva Las Vegas!

Step1: Started with Slate Cheese Tray

Started with a blank New Your State shaped slate cheese platter I found at the 99 cents store.

Step2: Made Alignment Template

In order to make sure I aligned properly, I took a picture of the platter, traced it in XCS and made sure the image was the same size as the real thing.  I scored the outline on a piece of cardboard and placed the slate board on top of that so I knew I would be perfectly aligned for my engraving.  Worked like a charm.

Step4: Rubber Feet

Added little rubber feet I bought on Amazon and the project was done!
