A simple layered US map shape with an American flag inlay.
First step is to cut out the backer piece. This is the base on which all other parts are assembled. Just a simple outline of the US map.
Second step is just as simple. On canvas 3, you cut out both the outline and the flag in one go. I have also provided the outline by itself in canvas 2 so it can be cut separately on a thicker wood to apply more depth to the piece.
After all pieces have been cut, next step would be customization. You can, stain, paint or clear coat whatever pieces to your hearts content. I used standard krylon spray paint to paint mine. I painted the red first, let it dry and taped off the stripes and then painted the blue, but you could do just about anything you’d like to it.
Next step would be assembly. This step is also a personal preference step. You can use whatever glue works for your project needs. I have been using the gorilla glue version of E6000 and it’s been working great for me.
The final step is to admire your piece. Maybe give a salute, say the pledge of allegiance. Whatever your red, white and blue heart desires.
