You haven't waited too long now and here it is: The third story box! This time it is the biblical story from the old testament about the occupation of Jericho.
In the first step, i came up with a new idea and design and model the whole thing in the 3D software “sketchup make”. In this case again, I was able to take the outer box (without the scenes) from my previous project “christmas story box” (see above).
If you want to do the same, you now only have to think about 4 scenes for the story box to be able to tell the complete story.
In the case of the story “Occupation of Jericho”, these are the four scenes:
The story can be read in Joshua 6 and 7.
After exporting a dxf file and importing this into XTool Creative Space, changes can be made here (especially for Box - File 1). Customize the text or even insert an image for engraving.
If you want to change the scenes or add your own, you can also ungroup the pieces and adjust lines or insert your own scenes as dxf.
After finishing the adjustments, use the above settings for cutting.
One thing you have to be careful about when assemblying the parts is the side wall which has to be bent to put it into the top and bottom of the box.
(I really love the fact that wood can be bent with a laser like this).
After some sanding (if there are traces of burning or smoke) simply put the individual parts together as shown in the pictures (The scenes are from the Christmas story box but you have the right order in Step 1). So remember to pay attention to the order of the scenes so that they appear one after the other when you turn the inside of the box afterwards!
If a part is a little loose, use some superglue! It also helps to turn the inside several times after assembly to create a little more play.
Have fun with this third story box! More are yet to come!
