This model car features a multi-layer design so you can cut as many or as few layers as you want to make the car flat or more 3D. I used 4 layers of 3mm material to make give it a little depth while being thin enough to display on a wall.
The file contains 4 main components.
First is the wheels, you should cut 4 of these from your chosen material.
Next is the main car body featuring the window cutout, you can cut as many of these as you like to make the finished car appear wider.
And finally there is the outer part of the body to add depth and detail, you will need to cut at least 2 of these.
These are the settings used to cut 3mm MDF using the xTool D1 Pro 5w laser.
If you are cutting multiple copies of the same parts you can copy and paste to cut several parts at the same time. Just remember to use the framing feature to ensure all parts fit on your material.
Assembling the parts will require wood glue and ideally some clamps to hold the layers together while the glue sets.
